Never have the opportunities for a technical career been so limitless. Flight Test Control Engineer (FTCE) for the Air Mobility and Maritime Mission (AMMM) program. The AMMM program consists of the C-130, C-5, and P-3 aircraft. The FTCE is responsible for the coordination and execution of tasks to ensure aircraft readiness to support test. This requires control and tracking of aircraft configuration, coordinating and staging of support equipment, developing and maintaining aircraft test schedules, and coordinating with other organizations associated with aircraft test readiness. Tasks will also include execution of ground and flight tests. This requires the ability to transfer test procedures into detailed test cards, perform test per procedures in order to obtain test objectives. Must be able to effectively communicate, direct and interact with Production Operations to achieve aircraft readiness. Understanding of aircraft capabilities, specifically multi-engine aircraft with modern avionics, is needed in order to assist in the development of realistic test procedures. Must be able to obtain a secret security clearance. Overtime, odd shifts, and weekend work will occasionally be required. Travel will be required for many test programs. Travel will be both domestic and international. Travel dates and spans are highly volatile in the flight test environment. This position requires willingness and capability to fly on test aircraft and the ability to pass an FAA Class 3 physical.
A level 2 employee typically has 2 - 5 years of professional experience. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
