Civil Design Engineer

The Civil Design Engineer plays a crucial role in preparing or assisting in the development of the scope of work, design concepts, cost estimates, and presentations. This position provides professional and technical support on a day-to-day basis, ensuring the successful execution of projects.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Project Manager or Department Head in the development and design of projects, including plans, specifications, and estimates.
• Develop feasible design alternatives and compare significant parameters such as typical sections, horizontal and vertical alignments, right-of-way requirements, and cost.
• Identify and analyze principal design features and major design alternatives that fulfill the project's purpose and need.
• Produce detailed, final design plans, specifications, and estimates in accordance with relevant standards and guidelines.
• Consult with the Project Manager or Department Head to review detailed plans, specifications, and cost estimates to ensure conformity with project scope and design standards.
• Review design details, coordinate technical recommendations, assess the cost-effective constructability of projects, and evaluate overall project quality.
• Perform most assignments with guidance on expected results and receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems.
• Provide advanced technical support in the development and design of projects.
• Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques to solve complex problems requiring evaluation of several alternatives.

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD software.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, including land development, stormwater management, site development, and grading.
• Experience in drainage design, site planning, and transportation projects.
• Ability to handle project management tasks and provide engineering analysis.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• EIT certification or Professional Engineer license is preferred.
• Experience in construction and wastewater projects is advantageous.

Work Environment:

The role is based in an office setting with occasional day travel to local sites. The engineer will attend various meetings and networking events related to projects.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Permanent position based out of Savannah, GA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $90000.00/yr. Health, Vision, Dental, Etc.

Workplace Type:

This is a fully onsite position in Savannah, GA.
