This job is a Federal Work Study, non-benefited position in the Office of Human Resources that reports to the Manager of Human Resources. Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a federally funded program by the Department of Education. This program provides part-time jobs for undergraduate students with significant financial need and is administered by the FWS Coordinator, and the Office of Financial Aid, in accordance with the law, federal regulations, and with instructions from the United States Department of Education.
Salary: $13.50 per hour
Minimum Qualifications: (Job Code T9502) Currently enrolled Gwinnett Technical College student who is in good academic standing and eligible for funds through the Federal Work Study Program for the current semester. Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours and be able to handle confidential information. Candidates must be available approximately 19 hours per week.
Schedule: Monday – Thursday 1 Pm – 5 Pm, Friday 1 Pm- 4 PM
Preferred Qualifications: In addition to the minimum qualifications, one year of office experience. Business Management or Human Resource Management Program student preferred.
Additional knowledge, skills and abilities need to be successful include: ability to manage multiple tasks; file accurately. Must be organized and detail oriented, team oriented, able to follow instructions, work independently, abide by confidentiality policy, be dependable and professional. Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills a must.
Job Description Summary: Under close supervision, provides clerical support and office assistance to the Human Resources Department. Job duties include but are not limited to: operating office equipment, front office receptionist, filing and general office/clerical work. Direction of assigned supervisor, provides information and assistance to internal and external customers.
