Claims Support Supervisor

The Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) is administratively attached to GBI. CJCC is legislatively charged with eleven areas of criminal justice coordination. Among those responsibilities is to serve as the statewide clearing house for criminal justice information & research. Develop criminal justice legislative & executive policy proposals; & serve in an advisory capacity to the Governor on issues impacting the criminal justice system. CJCC plans & administers tens millions of dollars in federal criminal justice and victim services grants.

Location: This position is located at 104 Marietta Street, Atlanta GA 30303

Description: Serving as the job expert and/or the point of contact, the Claims Support Supervisor, with minimal supervision, directs, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of Customer Service Representatives & Program Advocates.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Organize the objectives of the Victims Services Division Customer Service unit and Victim Advocates
  • Accomplishes department objectives by supervising staff; organizing and monitoring work process
  • Accomplishes staff job results by coaching, counseling, planning, monitoring, and appraise job results, conduct training, implement & enforce CJCC systems, policies, and procedures by using the agency prescribed Performance Management and Disciplinary Process and all relevant agency policy and procedures
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, may serve as lead worker
  • Manage time & leave approvals for Customer Service & Victim Advocate staff
  • Supervise and assign workload to staff

Assists in planning, directing, and implementing victim advocacy and notification program

  • Assists in development of uniform policy interpretations, procuring services, and/or evaluating quality and management
  • Provides support to victims with safety planning
  • Provides assistance in the guidance and direction in the development of policies and procedures. Provides assistance in the documentation of victim information
  • Maintains confidentiality of client records
  • Maintains accurate and relevant resource materials for victims services
  • Facilitates communication and continuity of services to address the needs of the victims
  • Assures compliance with applicable legal and policy requirements
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications
  • As business needs arise, the Claims Support Supervisor contributes to team efforts by completing Customer Service or Advocate responsibilities as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with underserved populations, including older adults and vulnerable communities
  • Knowledge of crime victim services, including support for victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking
  • Demonstrated experience in training, outreach, and community engagement initiatives
  • Experience auding reports and reviewing call logs for accuracy, compliance, and quality assurance
  • Experience delivering trainings and presentations to the general public and diverse audiences

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of experience in a human services field, which includes two (2) years in a lead worker, team lead, or supervisory role; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level Social Svcs Prgm Mgr 3 (SSP022) or position equivalent.
