Apprenticeship Services Specialist

The Apprenticeship Services Specialist is responsible for supporting the statewide administration of the State Apprenticeship Expansion Formula Grant for the Technical College System of Georgia's (TCSG) Office of Workforce Development (OWD). This position will work under the direction of OWD's Apprenticeship Grants & Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating apprenticeship-related applications and data entry related to apprenticeship grant program
  • Data entry into the WorkSource Georgia Portal and other related data systems
  • Preparing data for grant-related reporting
  • Reviewing all incoming apprenticeship funding material
  • Assisting with tracking grant progress and apprentice enrollments
  • Serving as first point of contact for employers and stakeholders
  • Assist with preparation of reports
  • Assist with planning, supporting, and coordinating meetings, info sessions, to support employers in apprenticeship-related initiatives
  • Monitor grant activities for compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Assist with apprenticeship-related records retention
  • Provide technical assistance to stakeholders
  • Assist with grant closeout processes and related ad hoc reporting
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree required in a relevant field and three (3) years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data entry and WorkSource GA Portal
  • Previous experience working with a WIOA funded program
  • State or Federal grant management experience
  • Tracking and managing grant funds

Technical Competencies

  • This role requires a high level of analytical and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Skills in interpersonal relations and customer service
  • Decision making and problem-solving skills
