Job Description:

Under general supervision, inspect and test the accuracy of high-speed fuel meters, truck meters, loading rack meters, CNG meters, milk meters, and associated devices.

Job Summary:

Thoroughly examine dispensing devices to ensure established standards are met

Test and verify meter calibration

Verifies accuracy of fuel dispensers by both monetary and volumetric indicators according to established procedures

Responds to complaints promptly

Investigate consumer complaints concerning the accuracy of pumping devices and prepares documentation as needed

Attends meetings and training seminars for updates and information

Interacts with all levels of the Department in a way that promotes respect, encourages cooperation, and contributes to excellent performance

This position requires occasional overnight travel

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

Must have a valid Georgia driver's license

Must have a clean driving record

Must be able to back a trailer

Must have communication and customer service skills

Maintain the State vehicle and all equipment for the job

Be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions

General knowledge of the Windows operating system and basic computer skills

Basic mathematical skills

High school diploma or GED required

Selected applicants must reside or be willing to relocate within a reasonable distance of the assigned territory

Physical Demands:

Standing for long periods of time; intermittent periods of walking, squatting, kneeling, or driving

Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs. for short periods of time.
