Client Service Representative

Under close supervision, the client service representative is responsible for accurately fulfilling customer orders and managing calls.

Work duties:

  • Responds to basic customer inquiries about products, provides quotes, and handles order entry.
  • Places customer orders via phone, fax, email, electronic methods, or walk-in sales.
  • Influences the profitability of Motion Industries by negotiating the sale and purchase price within certain parameters.
  • May adjust prices for non-contract customers to meet their demands based on competition, while maximizing profits for Motion Industries.
  • Builds relationships with customers to ensure repeat business by engaging with the client and managing process improvements.
  • Places orders for items to ensure adequate inventory levels for customers.
  • May place orders without approval for orders up to $5,000 USD per line and $10,000 USD per purchase order.
  • Responsible for the supply of products in branch inventory, distribution center inventory, or supplier inventory.
  • Determines the most cost-effective shipping method for customer orders.
  • Partners with account representatives to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Accelerates pending orders.
  • May extract inventory and prepare the order for shipment to the customer.
  • May handle customer returns.
  • Performs other tasks assigned.

Education and experience:

  • University degree.
  • Bilingual: Spanish/English. Intermediate/advanced level English (ability to communicate fluently in technical conversations).
  • Experience in purchasing and following up with customers and suppliers.

Knowledge and skills:

  • Reliability, organization, and attention to detail required.
  • Strong communication skills including written, verbal, and listening.
  • Ability to multitask and required time management skills.
  • Moderate computer skills including information processing, internal and external communication via email, use of business systems, and internet product search capabilities.
  • Product knowledge preferred.
