Customer Service Representative

Under close supervision, the Customer Service Representative is responsible for accurately fulfilling customer orders and managing calls.

Duties include:

  1. Responding to basic customer inquiries about products, providing quotes, and handling order entry.
  2. Processing customer orders via phone, fax, email, electronic methods, or walk-in sales.
  3. Influencing profitability by negotiating sales and purchase prices within certain parameters.
  4. Adjusting prices for non-contract clients to meet their demands based on competition while maximizing profits for Motion Industries.
  5. Building relationships with customers to ensure repeat business by engaging with the client and managing process improvements.
  6. Ordering items to maintain adequate inventory levels for customers.
  7. Processing orders without approval for orders up to $5,000 USD per line and $10,000 USD per purchase order.
  8. Responsible for sourcing products from branch inventory, distribution center inventory, or supplier inventory.
  9. Determining the most cost-effective shipping method for customer orders.
  10. Partnering with account representatives to ensure customer satisfaction.
  11. Accelerating pending orders.
  12. Extracting inventory and preparing orders for shipment to customers.
  13. Handling customer returns.
  14. Performing other assigned tasks.

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Industry experience preferred.
  • Bilingual: Spanish/English. Intermediate/advanced English proficiency (ability to communicate fluently in technical conversations).

Knowledge and skills:

  • Reliability, organization, and attention to detail required.
  • Strong communication skills including written, verbal, and listening.
  • Ability to multitask and time management skills required.
  • Moderate computer skills including information processing, internal and external email communication, use of business systems, and internet product search capabilities.
  • Product knowledge preferred.
