Impact and Opportunity

Gentherm recently launched WellSenseTM; a software-defined consumer experience portfolio that promotes health and well-being in the vehicle. One of the main contributors for WellSenseTM experience are pneumatic systems and components like lumbar- or massage applications. We are seeking for a Software Lead Engineer with exceptional technical expertise to lead all activities of Software project in terms of customer projects, advanced projects or VA/VE programs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of "SW engineers" to ensure the successful execution of embedded software projects for WellSense systems in order to meet milestones, quality expectations and budget objectives.
  • Conduct code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and engineering teams to plan and execute SW projects according to the given SW engineering and evaluation standards (ASPICE, ISO-standards, …).
  • Develop Software engineering teams to an engineering excellence level.
  • Plan, develop and maintain or adjust production ready software and controls to support the product technology roadmaps of WellSenseTM Applications.
  • Support to develop, maintain and adjust global SW architecture, standards & standard requirements library.
  • Execute SW part of application projects and deliver validated Software on specific Hardware in architecture and design.
  • Deliver ASPICE/ISO26262 compliant processes for all SW activities in the projects.
  • Conduct stand-ups, remove roadblocks, and assist with project backlog.
  • Align dependencies across disciplines to execute project timing.
  • Allocate resources effectively to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing within the team and across the organization.
  • Communicate project status on an ongoing basis and identify any associated risks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or Software.
  • Minimum 5-10 years' experience with automotive electronics software and systems requirements, functional objectives and validation methods and tools.
  • Minimum 3 years leading interdisciplinary engineering teams in terms of electronics and / or systems engineering.
  • Excellent technical project management skills, including planning and organization, decision-making, problem-solving, and project management.
  • Experience combining physical and digital assets into modern automotive solutions.
  • Deep understanding of future trends in connected vehicle architecture including current networks and future direction (e.g., domain-based control).
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative and resourceful (e.g., sourcing external partners, and collaborating with customers to solve new problems).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AGILE-style product development.
  • Experience in using LIN and/or CAN for automotive OEM.
  • Successful production launch of ASPICE project.
