Work Arrangement: Hybrid. This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Milford, Michigan three times per week, at minimum.

The Role: Vehicle Mechatronics Embedded Controls (VMEC) Electrified Propulsion Integration is responsible for end-to-end Propulsion Controls/SW for all EV and (P)HEV GM Vehicles. Our product scope covers requirement setting, controls, diagnostics, software, calibration development and deployment. We are a highly capable engineering team that focuses on delivering with quality, scalability, agility and customer-value added excellence; and we always continue to grow, innovate, and excel.

We are looking for an Engineering Group Manager for the Electrified Propulsion Software team that leads the requirements, controls, diagnostics and software development to support the growing Electrification business!

What You'll Do:

  • Enable self-organizing, empowered teams to deliver Electrified Propulsion Software product on-time with quality, help develop actionable strategy and support execution in an agile framework
  • Foster an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering to include Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Mathematics.
  • Minimum 7+ years of engineering experience related to embedded control system, calibration, related hardware, and/or safety critical system development
  • Demonstrated results in successful project execution
  • Excellent multi-functional communication and leadership skills - able to get multiple teams moving in the same direction
  • Demonstrated ability to "Deal with Ambiguity" while driving timely decision making

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Master of Science in Engineering and/or Master of Business Administration
  • 10+ years of engineering experience related to embedded control system, calibration, related hardware, and/or safety critical system development
  • Leadership experience of teams of engineers responsible for developing or testing embedded control systems or related hardware
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results through effective teamwork, lead numerous projects with different focal areas to successful completion, and manage and measure work through metrics, data, and results
  • Prior experience in Electrification or Propulsion domains
  • Experience managing a global team that is geographically dispersed
  • Working knowledge of embedded controls development tool set – (e.g. IBM Rational Tool Suite, Jira/Jama, Git ecosystem, MatLab-Simulink, ETAS)

Company Vehicle: Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review, you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program, through which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate.
