Network Engineer
GDIT is seeking a Network Engineer joining our team to support ETM activities at the Pentagon. Due to the nature of the work, telecommuting is not allowed.
Meaningful Work and Personal Impact: As a Network Engineer supporting ETM, you will be trusted to review and evaluate information technology (IT) infrastructure and systems to ensure adherence to company and customer quality standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Designs, plans, and builds communications networks.
- Configures routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols.
- Coordinates LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements.
- Monitors the network utilizing industry leading technologies.
- Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process.
- Plans implementation of enhancements.
- Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
- Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.
- Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.
- Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
- Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks.
- Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
- Designs and builds the hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.
- Provides guidance and leadership to less-experienced network personnel.
What You'll Need to Succeed - Required:
- Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
- Certifications:
- ---- IAT Level II certification
- ---- ONE of the following Networking Certifications - Brocade, Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), Juniper (JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP), Aruba
- ---- Willing to obtain an Aruba Certification within 90 days from start of employment (if candidate does not already hold this certification)
- Year's Experience: 5+ years of experience in network administration
- Education: Bachelors' Degree in a related field, OR work experience in lieu of degree.
- Technical Skills: Must have hands-on experience/knowledge with Aruba networking systems
- Location: Willing to report full-time onsite at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA

The likely salary range for this position is $110,500 - $149,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
