Electric Boat Materials Management
The Electric Boat Materials Management team is responsible for allocating and overseeing material status between departments to verify material is available and supporting key events activities associated with active class US submarines. Ensuring that all New Construction and Post Shakedown Availability meet safety, cost, quality, and scheduling standards for all delivered products.
Specific responsibilities include in depth knowledge of materials such as:
- Program/data management of material agendas
- Project metric reporting
- Material availability and make or buy analysis
- Purchased or subcontracted material
- Material ordering
- Material short resolutions
- Forecasting material requirements
Additionally, participating in the development of new processes/projects and updating procedures accordingly.
This role requires a strong interface with Program Office, Operations, Contracts, Planning, Finance, Design & Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, and Newport News Ship Building.
*This position is in-person on-site at Quonset Point, RI facility – Briggs.
Qualifications
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in any of the following: Supply Chain, Materials, Planning and Design
- Experience with technical drawing requirements, project reporting, material analysis and expediting, scheduling and product analysis
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Power Point) specifically Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros, and graph/charts
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2+ Years Shipyard/Shipbuilding, construction, or materials management support
- Military experience
- Experience using construction/design or inventory material control management software's such as ARTEMIS, Electronic Desktop (EB Internal employees), MRPII or Teamcenter
- 1+ years of experience using MRPII, EWP/PCM, and Artemis
Skills
- Familiarity in supply chain management applications (MRPII/Oracle)
- Organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Good computer skills are required
- Strong project management and prioritization skills
- Team player and interpersonal skills
- Willing and able to interact effectively with all levels of management
- Strong communications (written and oral)
