Shipboard Network Systems Engineer
The Shipboard Network Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring and managing all aspects of the local area networks aboard US Navy Submarines. As a Shipboard Network Systems Engineer your goal will be to ensure the integrity/implementation of the network infrastructure delivering robust systems connectivity and functionality to Navy submarine crews. You will be expected to perform well in a fast-paced and results-oriented team.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Design and implement network solutions that meet US DoD standards and/or improve the efficiency/coverage of current networks
- Integration of government furnished information and equipment
- Perform technology investigations and trade off studies
- Design and implement system configurations for shipboard and laboratory uses
- Document and manage the installation of each network
- Maintain and upgrade existing systems as necessary
- Troubleshoot and resolve shipboard issues and network faults
- Provide remote support and troubleshooting to Navy crews
- Report design and construction status to key stakeholders
- Review and update relevant test forms and test procedures
- Installation and testing of Navy Applications
Qualifications:
- Required: A Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Computer Systems and Networks, Electrical/Electronic Engineering 5+ years of professional engineering experience
- Preferred: Project management, DoD contract experience, EVMS experience, Military network/IT experience

- Ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance
