Plant Services Supervisor

The primary duties and responsibilities of Plant Services Supervisor consist of, but not limited to:

  1. Supervision of 15-20 janitorial hourly employees.
  2. Achieving safety and training goals.
  3. Project management.
  4. Work with and supervising vendors.
  5. Special projects.
  6. Overseeing janitorial services at the Groton, Kings Highway, B793, and New London sites.
  7. Cleaning equipment
  8. Carpentry services
  9. Sign shop services
  10. Painting services
  11. Hazmat services
  12. Development and implementation of process improvements
  13. Utilization of VMI programs
  14. Performance of preparation and takedown of Christening Ceremonies, special events, road sweeper operations.
  15. If needed, willing to participate in an alternative schedule during snow operations, snow removal and de-icing operations
  16. Working overtime as required to support organizational tasks
  17. Ability to interface with all levels of management and union leadership.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial plant and/or facilities maintenance
  • 1+ year of supervisory experience
  • Working daily and weekend overtime to support Snow Removal Operations and special projects as needed.
  • Working daily and weekend overtime as requested

Preferred:

  • Janitorial experience
  • Snow removal experience
  • Knowledge of backhoe and tractor operations
  • Knowledge of SDS process
  • Leadership/supervisor experience.
