Mechanical Engineer

Join an exciting new product development team where our mission is to send mothers and infants home healthy. The incumbent will be a core member of the MIC HW team designing mechanical parts, collaborating and managing suppliers, and carrying out the verification of medical devices. This role will contribute to the overall design, development, and validation of new electromechanical systems, ensuring compliance with FDA regulations and industry standards. The ideal candidate would have strong communication skills, mechanical design experience, and a motivation to achieve results. This role will provide development in understanding of patient/customer needs, product technology and intellectual property.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Infant Care products, as part of a larger HW team.
  • Conceptualize and create mechanical designs, mechanical components, and subsystems using Mechanical Engineering principles.
  • Create & review engineering drawings, understand GD&T principles, tolerance stack-up analysis, material selection & selection of manufacturing processes.
  • Hands on 3D CAD modeling to design and develop mechanical components and sub systems.
  • Perform necessary mechanical calculations to meet the needs of modelling, part analysis, design FMEAs, etc.
  • Develop test plans and reports and perform testing and verification of designs.
  • Obtain and leverage knowledge of industrial grade plastics/polymers and their design & manufacturing principles.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure test samples are consistent with the goals of larger programs, projects or initiatives.

Qualifications & Essential Skills

  • Mechanical engineering or closely related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) major.
  • Effective oral and written technical communication skills
  • Experience designing mechanical parts in Creo
  • Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills
  • Willing to come onsite a minimum of 3 days a week and work directly with our development team located in Waukesha, Wisconsin
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
