Advanced Manufacturing Engineer

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) is responsible for leading the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for new product introductions (NPI) and continuous improvement of existing production lines. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product quality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness through innovative tooling, fixturing, and process design. The AME will collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, and quality to drive excellence in manufacturing execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead process development and introduction for new products, ensuring readiness of the supply chain and manufacturing systems.
  • Design and validate tooling, fixturing, and equipment for complex mechanical systems, particularly in MRI or similar high-tech environments.
  • Drive productivity and quality improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, and DFx methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, control plans, and validation protocols.
  • Support early manufacturability assessments during product design phases.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues related to methods, tooling, equipment, and product design.
  • Lead prototype builds and ensure alignment with design intent and production requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards, including QMS, GMP, and validation requirements.
  • Collaborate globally to share best practices and standardize manufacturing solutions across sites.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering OR an Associates Degree and a minimum of 3 years experience in a related field, OR High School diploma with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process development, or tooling design.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and project planning skills.
  • Experience with CAD tools (e.g., CREO, SolidWorks, Windchill) and GD&T.
  • Knowledge of metals, plastics, and composite materials.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and DFx principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in MRI or other medical device manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in winding process
  • Experience in cryogenic process
  • Experience in automation and robotic application
  • Six Sigma certified.
  • Exposure to GEHC QMS procedures and regulatory compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical systems and hardware testing.
  • Experience in global team collaboration and project leadership.
  • Act with humility and build trust.
  • Lead with transparency and deliver with focus.
  • Lead with a Lean mindset.
  • Drive ownership and maintain unyielding integrity
