Technical Offer Engineer

Join our Heating & Refrigeration Solutions Team in Mexico and support us as a Technical Offer Engineer.

Responsibilities / Tasks

Understand manufacturing and production processes within the beverage, dairy, and refrigerated food industries, including:

  • Industrial refrigeration systems (ammonia, COâ‚‚, glycol).
  • Cooling, freezing, thermal processing, carbonation, and pasteurization systems.
  • Knowledge of thermal energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable refrigeration technologies for industries.
  • Prepare project pre-engineering documentation for refrigeration and beverage processing solutions:
    • Thermal and process sizing.
    • Production schedules and time planning.
    • Block flow diagrams.
    • P&IDs for refrigeration and beverage lines.
    • CIP distribution designs.
    • Layout design aligned with hygiene, drainage, piping, operation, and safety requirements.
  • Calculate product losses.
  • Prepare budget estimates for equipment supply and project execution.
  • Dimension and generate equipment lists, including ordering of:
    • Compressors, evaporators, condensers, pumps, piping, refrigeration valves, heat exchangers, CIP systems, tanks, and auxiliary components.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including sales, procurement, logistics, electrical and automation engineering, process engineering, project management, and global GEA competence centers.
  • Analyze project costs and prepare schedule plans for effective project implementation.
  • Review and adjust existing engineering documentation when required.
  • Lead technical design review meetings with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Use 2D design tools such as AutoCAD.
  • Conduct technical discussions and order clarification meetings with customers and suppliers to ensure compliance with process requirements.
  • Provide technical support for problem-solving, including root cause analysis and claim resolution.
  • Act as a facilitator between internal and external counterparts.
  • Provide general engineering and consulting support.
  • Perform detail engineering when required.
  • Drive continuous improvement of technical solutions and ensure the implementation of state-of-the-art technology and best practices in refrigeration and beverage process design.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene and sanitary guidelines (e.g., EHEDG, 3A).
  • Use of 3D design tools.

Educational Background

  • Degree in Engineering:
    • Refrigeration or Mechanical Engineering.
    • (Preference for experience in refrigeration processing)
  • (Valuable) Master's degree and/or specialized trainings in refrigeration technologies.

Professional Experience

  • 5+ years of experience working on medium-sized projects in:
    • Industrial refrigeration, beverage plants, or thermal process systems.
  • (Valuable) Knowledge of engineering calculation and design tools.
