Assembly Supervisor

The Assembly Supervisor will oversee assembly operations in a pharmaceutical machine manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and optimizing workflow using the SAP system. The role requires leadership, operational oversight, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards to maintain quality and efficiency.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Pharma Machine Manufacturing: Demonstrate strong knowledge of pharma machine assembly, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
  • GMP Compliance: Ensure all assembly processes adhere to GMP guidelines, maintaining documentation and process accuracy for regulatory compliance.
  • Safety Practices: Conduct and enforce regular safety oaths and ensure all team members adhere to workplace safety standards.
  • Shift Planning: Develop and implement shift schedules to optimize manpower and productivity.
  • Shift Management: Oversee handover activities between shifts, ensuring smooth transitions and effective communication.
  • Work Distribution: Allocates tasks to workers strategically based on workforce capacity, shift schedules, and material availability to ensure smooth operations and efficiency.
  • Material Management: Manage the issuance of materials required for assembly operations using SAP system and production closure.
  • Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Address operational challenges, troubleshoot assembly issues, and coordinate with engineering teams for problem-solving.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, coordinate replenishment, and ensure material availability aligns with production schedules.
  • Customer Coordination: Engage with clients to address concerns, provide progress updates, and ensure seamless project execution.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with logistics, production planning, and engineering teams to improve workflows and efficiency.
  • Customer FAT Preparation: Collaborate with teams to prepare for Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) with customers, ensuring readiness of equipment and quality.
  • Assembly Protocols: Ensure accurate filling and maintenance of assembly protocols for all projects.
  • Kaizen and Yellow Belt Activities: Lead and promote continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen projects and Yellow Belt activities.
  • Man-Hour Tracking: Review and verify man-hour booking slips to ensure accurate records.
  • Email Correspondence: Handle routine email communications related to assembly tasks, updates, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Machine Maintenance Oversight: Ensure assembly equipment is well-maintained and coordinate preventive maintenance with the relevant teams.
  • Label Printing: Oversee the printing of etching labels as required, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • Pharma Machine Manufacturing: Extensive experience with pharmaceutical equipment assembly and industry standards.
  • GMP Compliance: Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices, ensuring strict regulatory adherence.
  • Audit & Compliance Expertise: Ability to prepare for and conduct SOC audits with efficiency.
  • SAP System Proficiency: Hands-on experience in SAP, managing inventory, tracking processes, and ensuring seamless data entry.
  • Leadership & Team Supervision: Proven ability to lead teams effectively, manage workflow, and drive operational success.
  • Process Improvement Knowledge: Familiarity with Kaizen and Yellow Belt methodologies to enhance productivity.
  • Safety Standards: Deep knowledge of workplace safety regulations and ability to enforce protocols.
  • Resource & Shift Management: Strong planning skills for shift allocation and material management.
  • Technical & Communication Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and professional email correspondence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BE/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous experience in an assembly or manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement strategies
  • Experience: 5-10 years
