Senior Manager, Process & Project Engineering – Filtration

The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $115,000 - $130,000 per year + bonus. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States.
The pay range is not guaranteed compensation or salary. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. You may be eligible for additional rewards, such as a discretionary bonus (based on eligibility) and/or equity awards.
GEA Group is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Manager, Process & Project Engineering – Filtration to lead our North America Process & Project Engineering team. This role is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of the LPT North America project portfolio, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and according to budget, while meeting customer expectations. The Senior Manager will lead, mentor, and develop a team of Process & Project Engineers, driving technical excellence, operational efficiency, and a positive team culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Process & Project Engineers, ensuring adherence to company and departmental procedures, standards, and best practices.
- Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, supporting staff retention, succession planning, and professional development.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, identify training needs, and support career growth initiatives.
- Manage resource planning and staffing levels in coordination with the Director of Engineering and PMO to meet project portfolio demands.
Project Management & Execution
- Oversee a subset of the LPT North America project portfolio, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to specification.
- Provide technical support, conduct engineering reviews, and resolve design or test challenges.
- Ensure all project team members follow company procedures, GEA Project Management guidelines, and Product Engineering Standards.
- Support project risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with project stakeholders.
Process & Engineering Excellence
- Drive team initiatives for technical development, process standardization, and efficiency improvements.
- Implement tools, procedures, and methods to streamline engineering work and reduce repetitive tasks.
- Provide direct support on complex projects as needed.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Support Technical Offer Management (TOM) during presales, including input on engineering hours, historical data for costing, and installation specifications.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
- Address customer concerns related to project performance and support negotiation and settlement of claims within the scope of project engineering responsibility.
Administrative Duties
- Review and approve time sheets, PTO requests, and expense reports.
- Ensure team compliance with company policies, including travel and health & safety guidelines.
Your Profile / Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in process engineering, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and/or structural engineering.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings.
- Experience in the food, dairy, brewing, or beverage industries is highly desirable.
- Strong project management or project engineering experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools.
- Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.
