The Job

1. Responsible for leading an underwriting production team in handling underwriting assessment and service support to distribution teams / customer enquiries in underwriting related.
2. Develop and implement underwriting and operational framework, policies, procedure guidelines.
3. Monitor the processing of new business and underwriting to ensure SLA is committed in good quality and in accordance with company service standards.
4. Perform underwriting assessment and review the suggested cases from junior underwriters on both medical / non-medical cases within approval limits.
5. Liaise with team leads in distribution channels to identify areas of improvement.
6. Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and procedures in order to enhance the overall customer quality delivery.
7. Maintain good business relationship with channels, e.g. agency, banassurance, broker etc.

The Person

• University graduate or above, prefer with professional insurance qualifications e.g. FLMI.
• Minimum 10 years solid experience in life and medical insurance underwriting of which at least 5 years in managerial role.
• Strong business sense with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, self-motivated and effective team player.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to all levels.
• Ability to work under pressure and multi-tasking in a dynamic and changing environment.
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
