Senior Project Engineer

The Senior Project Engineer is a senior-level role entrusted with the responsibility of delivering a portfolio of small to medium-sized Brownfield Projects. This involves the application of established project maturation processes and engineering standards.

Responsibilities include:

• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture with zero-incident mindset; ensure strict compliance with all HSE regulations.
• Lead the planning and budgeting of Brownfield Projects in the Al Shaheen field.
• Ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of projects with high-quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinate project activities related to the Al Shaheen field.
• Foster a culture of incident-free (IF) execution in project development, planning, and implementation.
• Demonstrate and promote core values and IF behaviors across the team.
• Ensure full compliance with occupational and process safety legislation, as well as internal standards and procedures relevant to project engineering and management.
• Ensure alignment with the company's management system and applicable international standards.
• Review and approve deviations from standard practices as necessary.
• Develop project execution strategies and manage execution through operations handover and closeout.
• Prioritize work activities in coordination with the Brownfield Projects Lead, with emphasis on safety, production, and future development.
• Prepare, secure approval for, and manage project budgets (PAR/ROFO); maintain accurate cost and schedule tracking aligned with project stage gates.
• Produce timely progress and cost reports; maintain stakeholder visibility via PM deliverables such as Quality, Risk, Interface Management, reporting tools (e.g., SCIFORMA/weekly/monthly updates), and final closeout documentation.
• Review and validate contractor cost, schedule, and resource estimates.
• Facilitate technical reviews such as HAZOP, HAZID, constructability and design assessments to identify and mitigate project risks.
• Manage scope changes, assess impact on budget and timeline.
• Collaborate closely with other departments including Engineering & Construction and Field Operations to meet business goals.
• Deliver complete project documentation including engineering files, material specs, procurement and fabrication records, pre-commissioning/commissioning dossiers, etc., to the appropriate project coordinators.
• Oversee procurement activities, including contract strategy development, in coordination with the Contracts & Procurement team.
• Capture and share lessons learned; ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Support other teams in cost estimation validation for clients, asset teams, or partners.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to Project Engineers within the Brownfield Projects team.
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior leadership.

Requirements include:

• Engineering degree from a recognized university with more than 10 years of experience in oil and gas facility design, construction, project management, or operations.
• Professional certification in project management is preferred.
• Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices in project execution.
• Fluent in English.
