About The Role

FTI Consulting Brussels is looking for a Senior Consultant, with 3-5 years of experience, to join our leading and growing Financial Services Public Affairs team. You will have the opportunity to work on both traditional finance (banking, asset management or insurance) and digital finance (fintech, payments, crypto). Experience in public affairs consultancy, in-house or EU institutions will be considered as an advantage.

As a Senior Consultant in the Brussels Financial Services practice, you will work on different clients, support in building new business opportunities and be involved in day-to-day support of operations. If you are looking to work in a dynamic and thriving team that crosses multiple issues facing the financial services sector, then this is the position for you.

What You'll Do

• Deliver to clients: Monitor and gather intelligence on policy developments for clients; undertake research and draft reports and provide policy and legislative; drive client advocacy and policy communication programmes forward with day-to-day.
• Develop the team: coach junior colleagues and contribute to wider initiatives to positively position the firm and practice in the market.
• Team involvement: Work alongside senior colleagues on building development activities such as pitch preparation and delivery; manage client projects and accounts and actively drive the business forward.
• Networking: Build connections in the industry through networks with EU contacts and stakeholders as well as potential clients.

You will be part of a dynamic and multinational team of experts based in Brussels and you will be able to work closely with our international Financial Services professionals in strategic communications, economics, corporate finance, etc.

What You Will Need to Succeed

Basic Qualifications

• Some years experience in EU Financial Services Public Affairs.
• Proven skills and interest in public affairs, advocacy, issues and reputation management across Financial Services issues.
• Good understanding and experience of working with policymakers and stakeholders in Brussels and in national capitals to further strategic objectives.
• Knowledge of the Financial Service sector, regulation and policy discussions.
• Experience in-house, in a trade body, in a public institution, or advising clients on policy and communications issues.
• Strong research, analytical and writing skills with a focus on detail and delivery.
• Good organisation and presentation skills with a keenness for client and project management.
• Ability to digest and summarise information to key internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent English with one or two additional languages preferable.
• Great team spirit and determination.
