Our mission is to evolve Frontify's platform capabilities and deliver useful everyday tools to our customers. We are innovating and working on creative solutions to help our customers manage their Frontify organizations and resources more efficiently. You'll work with our Search & AI team and play a critical role in elevating our team's performance and capabilities. With your deep expertise in backend development, you will handle new challenges independently, from architecture and planning to implementation. You will be in the driver's seat for various projects and initiatives, mentoring junior team members and driving technical excellence. Your Responsibilities

• You'll develop new features within a modular architecture while migrating existing legacy code into it.
• Design, build, and optimize LLM-powered applications – including human-in-the-loop and fully autonomous systems – ensuring they're scalable, reliable, and context-aware.
• Integrate and orchestrate LLMs (open-source and commercial) into production workflows using tools like LangChain or custom-built frameworks.
• Test, validate, and continuously refine system behavior through context engineering, scenario-based stress testing, and iterative improvements to deliver high-quality, consistent, and grounded responses.

Your Story

• You can work remotely from anywhere in Switzerland or join us on-site in our St. Gallen office, with the flexibility to choose your best work environment.
• You're experienced in backend software engineering using TypeScript and PHP8 (or willing to learn), GraphQL, REST, and MySQL.
• A background in building intelligent human-in-the-loop and fully autonomous applications powered by large language models (LLMs).
• Expertise in context engineering for optimizing prompt design and LLM interactions.
• An understanding of how to integrate LLMs into scalable orchestration systems, using tools like LangChain or custom-built solutions.
• Skilled in testing and validating non-deterministic systems, including iterative prompt/context refinement and scenario-based stress testing.
• Passion for creating practical, fast, and reliable AI-driven customer experiences that are deeply context-aware.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-moving environment.
• Experimental mindset.
• You speak English fluently.
