Service & Field Support Specialist - Mechanical Seals

Responsibilities

1. Perform on-site installation, removal, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mechanical seals and seal support systems
2. Support customers during commissioning/startup and shutdown of pumps, compressors, and other rotating equipment.
3. Investigate and resolve seal failures and equipment performance issues in partnership with Reliability, Claims, and Sales teams.
4. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for seal-related issues in the field.
5. Deliver hands-on training to end users on mechanical seal operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
6. Identify recurring service trends and communicate insights to internal teams to drive continuous improvement.
7. Serve as the technical, customer-facing resource for complex service challenges at industrial sites.
8. Support aftermarket sales efforts by recognizing new opportunities during site visits.

Qualifications

• Direct experience with mechanical seal installation, removal, and troubleshooting (required).
• 5–10 years in a field service, maintenance, or rotating equipment role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; vocational training or technical certifications preferred.
• Familiarity with pumps, compressors, and other rotating equipment.
• Skilled in real-time problem-solving and independent fieldwork with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills and customer-focused mindset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and basic reporting.
• Ability to meet physical and travel requirements (up to 75%, lift 50 lbs., industrial environments).
