Role Summary And Requirements:

• To provide specialist high-level technical advice high-level problem resolution of complex problems system security policy implementation monitoring

You will be responsible for:

• Driving business profitability in the context of cost management through information technology solutions
• Increasing operational efficiency and suggesting solutions to enhance cost effectiveness
• Delivering exceptional service that exceeds customers' expectations through proactive, innovative and appropriate solutions by resolving queries fast and effectively
• Cultivating and managing objective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including end-users, SME's, project managers and senior staff members by providing input to business requirements
• Providing second level standby and complex problem resolution by interfacing with vendor support to resolve complex application and system configurations
• Providing specialist high-level technical advice for high-level problem resolution of complex problems by monitoring system security policy implementation
• Monitoring changes in legislation, regulations, initiatives and relevant industry practices
• Ensuring drafting and implementation of appropriate interventions
• Ensuring compliance with audit requirements
• Assessing, identifying and mitigating potential risks within the IT system engineering environment and complying with governance in terms of legislative, audit and business policy requirements by drafting policies and procedures for the System Engineering Environment
• Managing systems by setting threshold measurements for capacity and infrastructure upgrades and suggesting changes
• Managing system efficiencies by suggesting and implementing efficient system changes based on research of new and existing technology to align with business needs
• Setting timeline and methodology for system, release upgrades and build test packs for regression testing
• Accessing and implementing patches and fixes in test environment and migrating to live
• Managing own development to increase own competencies
• Obtaining and sustaining in-depth system/application knowledge to maximize contribution to the role
• Ensuring platform uptime is maintained through changes and maintenance
• Adjusting processes where necessary to ensure efficient and disruption free outcomes

Skills:

• Linux skills and the ability to troubleshoot the Linux platform
• Openshift virtualisation exposure will be an advantage
• Scripting knowledge i.e. PowerShell, python or Terraform
• VMware virtualisation skills
• Managing enterprise hardware i.e. Cisco, Dell and Lenovo
• Ability to communicate and document solutions effectively
