In this role you will assist the organisation in resolving system issues by communicating with system users and responding to issues timeously. Required to manage support projects and provide input into the budget.

Responsibilities:

• Drive business profitability in the context of cost management through Information technology solutions
• Establish, align, and manage target and budget goals whilst ensuring effective control of costs for a range of functional areas to increase cost efficiency
• Influence, encourage and manage the cost-effective use of systems and facilities
• Develop an IT service culture which builds rewarding relationships, proposes innovations, and allows others to provide exceptional client service
• Cultivate and manage objective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including end-users, SME's, project managers and senior staff members by providing input to business requirements
• Operationally manage, monitor, alert and escalate for a number of diverse platforms which include, Mid-range, Personal Computers, Networks, Helpdesk and Enterprise Management.
• Comply, understand, and implement all steps within IT development and meet governance in terms of legislative and audit requirements
• Ensure all the required hardware and software contracts and SLA are up to date and all metrics are met
• Production environment Support and Automation, for their respective support teams (Technical and Development)
• Support all incidence and problem management when necessary
• Manage own development to increase own competencies
• Facilitate the conversion of knowledge management and ideas into new or improved processes and services.
• Plan and manage performance, skills development, employment equity, talent, and culture of team to improve innovation, achieve efficiencies and increase competencies

You'll be an ideal candidate if you meet the following requirements:

Qualification and experience:

• IT Degree/Diploma or relevant qualification
• BASE24 payment processing systems and Postilion architecture, including real-time transaction processing, configuration of host interfaces, and integration with banking channels.
• In-depth knowledge of BASE24 Classic, including legacy system support, migration strategies, and performance tuning.
• Strong familiarity with HP NonStop environments
• Extensive experience in developing and refining IT processes to improve performance and reduce downtime
• Extensive knowledge in system and log monitoring using leading infrastructure monitoring tools
• Experience in Docker Containerization
• Experience in managing vendor relationships and leading technical discussions with the vendors
• Experience in conduction IT risk assessments and contributing to disaster recovery planning
• Collaborative experience in developing new systems, ensuring smooth integration, and aligning IT operations with business objectives
• Experience in managing Cyber Security Threats within the IT infrastructure and applications environments.
