U.S. work authorization is required for this position.

Key Elements of the Job

Basic Purpose: Diagnose and provide service and repairs to hotel equipment including electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire & safety, HVAC refrigeration, interior, paint and decorating, and respond to inquiries and problems in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with all Four Seasons' policies.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Scheduled Preventative Maintenance: Performing regular, scheduled inspections and maintenance tasks within guest rooms and other hotel spaces.

  • Minor Repairs: Addressing and resolving minor maintenance issues such as tightening loose fixtures, replacing light bulbs, and addressing other small repairs.

  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintaining the overall cleanliness and functionality of rooms and common areas, including cleaning surfaces, vacuuming, and touch-up work as needed.

  • Inspecting and Maintaining Room Contents: Checking the functionality and condition of furniture, fixtures, appliances, and other items found in guest rooms.

  • Reporting Major Issues: Promptly identifying and reporting any significant maintenance problems or safety hazards to management.

  • Safety and Security: Adhering to all company safety procedures and security protocols, completing required safety training, and reporting accidents or unsafe conditions.

  • Guest Service: Responding to guest requests professionally and promptly, assisting with their needs, and maintaining a positive demeanor.

  • Teamwork: Collaborating with other team members to ensure smooth operations and a positive work environment.

  • Professionalism: Maintaining a clean and professional appearance in line with company standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Support with basic diagnosing and handling of all repairs of equipment including motors, starters, breakers, chillers and associated equipment throughout the entire building.
  • Respond to guest calls regarding maintenance of rooms and equipment in rooms or public area in a timely manner.
  • Respond to all emergency conditions such as fires, power failures, etc.
  • Clean all stations in Engineering, grease traps, plumbing stoppages and maintain an organized department and hotel.
  • Comply with and enforce Four Seasons standards as set forth in EmPact.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Actively wear and maintain supplied PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Support with the installation or relocation of any additional equipment or existing equipment when necessary.
  • Support with the installation of electrical and mechanical systems for renovations, outlet additions and associated equipment and provide electrical set ups for exhibits including maintenance of those set-ups.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Education: High school education or equivalent experience
  • Experience: Experience required by position is from 1 to 2 years of employment in the related position with Four Seasons or other organizations.
  • Skills and Abilities: Requires a working technical knowledge of general building maintenance. Working knowledge is generally learned on-the-job or through a series of professional certifications. Requires knowledge of the ability to operate computer equipment. Ability to read, speak and write English.
  • Hours: Eight (8) hour shifts; scheduled days and times vary based on need.

Environment:

  • Physical Job Requirements:
    • Lifting/Pushing/Pulling/Carrying: 50% of shift carrying parts, equipment, pushing/pulling carts, lifting boxes or other equipment
    • Bending/Kneeling: 50% of shift bending/kneeling to troubleshoot and/or work on equipment.
    • Mobility: 85% of shift to walk through building and check on equipment or to answer guest calls.
    • Continuous Standing: 90% of shift continuous standing while walking or diagnosing maintenance solutions.
    • Climbing:
      • Stairs: up to approx. 1000 steps, 50% of shift
      • Ladders: up to approx. 40 steps, 50% of shift
  • Work Environment:
    • Inside: 80% of shift
    • Outside: 20% of shift
    • Abnormal temperature exposures:
      • Summer temperatures outside may reach above 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
      • Winter temperatures outside may reach as low as 20 degrees Fahrenheit.
