Identity Machines is hiring a Founding Software Engineer!

Join us in Toronto, or remotely across Canada or the U.S., to shape the future of safe and trusted AI adoption for enterprises worldwide.

Identity Machines helps enterprises secure GenAI and AI agents across all environments and govern them with centralized policies, zero-trust access control, and compliance-grade auditability and transparency. Our SaaS platform, Iron Book, is developed in design partnerships with Google, AWS, and Microsoft Azure, and is a perfect fit for businesses looking to innovate safely across the entire digital estate (including multi-cloud and on-premises).

Join us to help shape the future of secure AI adoption. As a core member of our engineering team, you’ll play a pivotal role in building Iron Book, our platform for governing and securing AI agents in the enterprise. From designing access controls to advancing compliance and auditability, you’ll work closely with leadership to influence both the product and the technical direction of the company. If you’re passionate about cybersecurity, identity, and ensuring AI is adopted safely and responsibly, we’d love to hear from you.

The Founder
Logan Wolfe, Founder and CEO, is an Austrian-Canadian tech entrepreneur, author, AI researcher, and TEDx speaker with over 16 years of experience in cybersecurity and enterprise AI. He’s built and exited two tech companies and has led teams through the full journey—from early product design and development to fundraising, go-to-market, and scaling operations. Recognized as Startup CEO of the Year by CanadianSME Magazine and Google in 2022, Logan brings a practical, hands-on approach to building companies.

Backed by Forum Ventures Studio, you’ll also be working alongside a team of experienced startup operators and ex-founders across design, product, growth, and more, helping turn ideas into thriving businesses.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in full-stack software development

  • Experience with cybersecurity engineering and access management (critical to our mission of securing AI agents)

  • Knowledge of monolithic and microservice architectures, and the judgment to apply each appropriately

  • A product-focused mindset, emphasizing delivery of real value to users

  • Adaptability and agility, thriving in a fast-paced startup environment

  • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to assess technical trade-offs and risks

  • Our tech stack includes: Next.js, Radix UI, Typescript, AWS Amplify, AWS Lambda, AWS API Gateway, AWS ECS, AWS DynamoDB, and AWS Cognito

  • Bonus:

    • Prior experience integrating large language models (LLMs) or using AI copilots in development workflows

    • Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and containerization

What You Are Looking For:

You want to be part of an early-stage team where your work truly shapes the future. As a founding engineer, you’ll own the stack end-to-end and build the foundation of a platform designed to make AI adoption safe, trusted, and enterprise-ready.

You’re excited by questions like:

  • How do we make sure enterprises can innovate with AI without sacrificing security or compliance?

  • What’s the smartest way to design zero-trust access for AI agents from day one?

  • How can we architect systems that are both fast to build and strong enough to withstand enterprise scrutiny?

  • What practices should we put in place now to ensure the product — and the team — can scale sustainably?

If you want to build meaningful technology at the frontier of AI and security — and you thrive in environments where ownership, creativity, and speed matter — we’d love to meet you.

What We Offer:

  • A pivotal role in building a transformative product alongside a visionary founder and dedicated team

  • The necessary equipment and resources to ensure success in a remote working environment

  • A competitive compensation package, with a salary range of $130,000 - $150,000 based on experience

  • Equity opportunities, aligning your success with the company's growth

  • Comprehensive health benefits to support your well-being

Identity Machines is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We recruit, employ, train, compensate, and promote regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, disability, age, veteran status, and other protected statuses as required by applicable law.

Our dedication to promoting diversity, multiculturalism, equity, and inclusion is foundational to our mission. We strongly encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply for this position.

Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in Canada or the U.S. at this time. We are unable to sponsor or assume sponsorship of an employment visa currently.
