Senior Account Manager

About the Position:

We're looking for an energetic Senior Account Manager to join our team. As a Senior Account Manager at Forerunner, you will be the commercial partner to our Customer Success Managers, stepping in after the sale to grow revenue by cross-selling our customers into new use cases.

  • Post-Sale Revenue Growth: You will own cross-sell motions within assigned accounts by strategically building value, presenting tailored commercial proposals, and negotiating contract expansion.
  • Customer Retention & Renewals: You will serve as a trusted commercial advisor — deepening relationships with key stakeholders, supporting relevant product and adoption discussions, and ensuring sustained investment in Forerunner.
  • Collaborative Expansion Planning: You will work closely with the Customer Success Manager to identify and qualify expansion opportunities within active accounts, and turn user feedback and success stories into measurable revenue growth.
  • Pipeline & Forecast Management: You will develop and maintain an accurate account pipeline, and partner with CS Leadership on forecasting, reporting, and goal setting for post-sales revenue targets.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: You will liaise with Product, Marketing, Customer Success, and Engineering teams to shape and execute commercial strategies, feedback loops, and compelling customer narratives.
  • Value Communication: You will build compelling ROI and impact stories, leveraging case studies, metrics, and user success to extend accounts and reinforce Forerunner's value.

About You:

  • Have a proven commercial acumen: You have 6-8 years in account or customer success roles — ideally in SaaS or GovTech — with experience in cross-selling or upselling accounts.
  • Are a strong relationship builder: You excel at cultivating trust with government or municipal clients, adept at navigating complex decision-making structures.
  • Are a strategic & analytical thinker: You have demonstrated ability to analyze usage data, financial metrics, or customer feedback to uncover growth opportunities and shape account plans.
  • Are a confident negotiator: You are skilled in influencing stakeholders internally and externally, you can craft and negotiate contract terms while staying aligned with company goals.
  • Are collaborative & resourceful: You thrive in cross-functional, fast-moving environments. You bring structure and clarity while working alongside the CS team and business leadership.
  • Have mission and domain familiarity (a plus): You have experience in GovTech, flood-risk data, municipal planning, GIS or public-sector workflows strengthens alignment with our mission.

  • The salary range: For this position is $100,000-$120,000 with an OTE of $180,000-$210,000. This posting may span more than one career level. Compensation is determined based on a variety of factors, including an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and working location.
