Service Training Instructor
Ford of Canada operates eight Service Training Centres (STCs) nationwide. We are seeking a highly skilled Service Training Instructor (STI) to join our Laval, Quebec facility. In this pivotal role, you will be the face of Ford technical expertise, responsible for teaching, mentoring, and certifying dealership technicians. You will serve as a regional subject matter expert, ensuring our dealer network is equipped to handle the most advanced vehicle systems in the industry. In addition, you will provide support to the Technical Training and Service Support activities within National Service Operations at Ford of Canada as required.
Your impact:
- Educate: In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a crucial difference to the experience of customers and dealers by delivering high-impact, hands-on service technical training to dealership technicians on cutting-edge internal combustion (ICE), Hybrid, and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) technologies. While you will be assigned a 'base' Service Training Centre, your role may require that you travel to support training needs at other STCs.
- Innovate: Utilize both traditional classroom settings and advanced remote/distance learning platforms to reach technicians across the region.
- Lead: Manage the daily operations of the Laval STC, ensuring a world-class learning environment.
- Collaborate: Partner with assigned Curriculum Development Teams to develop new training materials.
Responsibilities
What you'll do...
The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Instruction: Deliver classroom/distance learning courses in a variety of topics to dealership technicians at our Ford Service Training Centre in Laval, Quebec according to established curriculums as well this role will include supporting training needs at other locations and can involve travel for up to two weeks per month.
- Operations: Be responsible for efficient running of assigned Service Training Centre including training/classroom/workshop supplies, equipment certifications, maintenance requests etc.
- Administration: Manage regional training waitlists and monthly schedules via the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Support: Act as a consultant for Dealers and Field Staff regarding technician competency and the Automotive Student Service Educational Training (ASSET) program (where applicable). Support development of technical training by participating in Curriculum Development Team meetings for assigned specialties. Support the National Service Operations at Ford of Canada in initiatives including technical recognition, retention and recruitment.
- Travel: Willingness to travel (up to two weeks per month) to support training needs at other STCs or attend professional development (passport required).
Qualifications
You'll have...
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certified Automotive Technician with industry and/or Ford Accreditation.
- Fully Bilingual (English and French) with professional-level proficiency in both oral and written communication.
- Minimum of five years of experience in automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Valid Driver's License and a current Passport for international travel (training in the US).
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced experience in Diesel or Electric Vehicle (EV) battery repair and high-voltage systems.
- Experience in automatic transmission diagnostics and repairs is an asset.
- Technical Automotive Training experience is an asset.
- Previous experience as a Shop Foreman, Lead Hand, or Technical Instructor.
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand learning modules.

The expected annual salary range for this Ford of Canada position is $85,000.00 - $135,000.00 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our Annual Compensation bonus program.
