The position of HR Generalist is challenging and diverse, playing an important role in supporting the needs of our associates as well as the needs of our business. Developing a strong partnership with associates both in the field and at the European Headquarters is critical in this area. The HR Generalist plays a key role in increasing the status of Foot Locker as a best practice and desirable employer within the industry. Keeping abreast of local legislative issues and identifying HR best practices is highly important in developing the role and the level of HR support within the specific countries of responsibility. Developing and ensuring the implementation of Foot Locker Europe Human Resources policies and procedures, in accordance with local legislation and any statutory requirements, is also of paramount importance.
Sick Leave Management
Provide support to store managers and employees during periods of absence, ensuring compliance with local regulations — including the Wet Verbetering Poortwachter in the Netherlands and applicable sick leave requirements in Belgium.
Compensation & Benefits
The HR Generalist is responsible for developing and monitoring remuneration and other benefits offered within each country of responsibility, including healthcare and pension plans. The HR Generalist also ensures compliance with local regulations and internal policies regarding these benefits. Additionally, the HR Generalist is accountable for providing accurate salary information to allow for payroll processing and keeping employee files up to date, including contracts of employment, offer letters, and all disciplinary records.

Legislative Issues
It is the responsibility of the HR Generalist to ensure all policies are compatible with local employment legislation (Collective Labor agreements/Works Councils, etc.). The HR Generalist is expected to proactively manage the disciplinary process and to coordinate events related to personnel legal proceedings.
HR Information Systems and Administration
The HR Generalist is responsible for keeping all personnel-related information systems up to date and ensuring that any requested reports are accurate and delivered on time.
Special Projects/Tasks
Additional related special projects and specific tasks may also be required on an ad hoc basis, depending on the needs of the business and as required by Management, Human Resources.
Exposure and success in 'higher' level Human Resource education or equivalent experience
Minimum 2 years of HR experience
Fluency in English and Dutch; proficiency in French is a plus
Strong knowledge of Dutch and/or Belgium labor laws and regulations, preferably within the retail sector.
Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, employee relations, diversity, and performance management
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate at all levels of organization in person and virtually
Enthusiastic, goal-oriented, team player with a desire to learn
Strong analytical skills
