Student Success Specialist

Reporting to the Extended Opportunities and Programs (EOPS) Supervisor, the Student Success Specialist will work with students from diverse backgrounds and experiences, particularly those from ethnic minority groups or individuals facing language, social, or economic barriers.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

1. Demonstrates empathy, strong verbal and written communication skills, and a high level of organization
2. Demonstrates understanding of program implementation guidelines for EOPS and CARE
3. Possesses proficiency in Banner, SARS, DegreeWorks, Canvas, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Adobe, or similar software and data management systems
4. Consistently meets deadlines while supporting students, coordinating program activities, and disseminating program information
5. Works closely with the Assistant Director to advise students and collaborate with advising and counseling professionals
6. Demonstrates a broad understanding of UC/CSU academic requirements to assist students in creating accurate and effective educational plans
7. Maintains clear and concise notes from student appointments; tracks and monitors student progress; and follows up regarding changes to academic plans or other issues affecting eligibility for services
8. Assists with outreach, in-reach, marketing, promotion, and recruitment strategies for EOPS and CARE programs; coordinates program-related events; and serves as a liaison with high schools, campus departments, off-campus programs, and community-based organizations
9. Performs a variety of office and student support duties, including scheduling appointments, participating in meetings, updating the website, and assisting with data collection
10. Designs, creates, and edits materials and information resources (e.g., forms, surveys, presentations, flyers, correspondence, and marketing materials); reviews and verifies accuracy of information
