Engineering Manager
Plans, directs, and coordinates engineering processes, design modifications, code compliance and engineering documentation for incoming orders. Develops, evaluates, and improves order processing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, part design, fabrication processes, tooling and production. Analyzes and improves quality, cost, and delivery time. Provides engineering support in production departments by trouble shooting and resolving technical issues. Serves on Material Review Board to determine disposition of material not meeting engineering specifications.
Hours: M-F 7:30am - 4:15pm
Responsibilities:
- Investigates engineering requirements for incoming orders, develops Quality Assurance Plan, prepares reports required by applicable codes and standards, and ensures that goals are achieved resulting in the highest possible customer satisfaction.
- Partners with Supervisors in other departments to achieve Flowserve goals and objectives.
- Specifies component materials that reduce costs and improve effectiveness.
- Ensures availability of engineering documentation to support new products and customer requirements.
- Assists with training and instructing Junior Order Engineers.
- Ensures engineering systems are available to support customer demand.
- Troubleshoots processes and designs minimizing delays in production schedules.
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the fields of valve design, manufacturing tooling, and applicable codes and standards. Recommend innovative solutions when applications are feasible to improve efficiency and quality.
- Understands and supports all Company objectives and performs duties delegated by management.
- Enforces safety rules by ensuring that designs and processes meet all applicable OSHA regulations and all other applicable codes and standards.
- Enforces Flowserve's environmental policies by ensuring that processes meet all applicable environmental regulations. Subcontractors are made aware of Flowserve's applicable environmental policies and are managed to these policies.

Requirements:
- BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 0-4 years relevant experience.
- Proven track record of engineering success in academic or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, engineering drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
- Ability to write routine and technical correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Ability to comprehend and apply principles of geometry, trigonometry, modern algebra, statistical theory and other areas of advanced mathematics.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and then recommend viable courses of action.
- Experience interpreting a variety of technical instructions in drawing, mathematical or diagram form and dealing with several abstract and concrete variables.
Preferred:
- 5 years of engineering experience.
- 5 years of manufacturing experience.
- Master's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Material).
