Human Resources Business Partner

The Human Resources Business Partner (Human Resources Representative) will help to build a people-first culture that delivers business results. Provides expert HR leadership and consultation to both management and employees. Responsible for delivery and execution of strategy, programs, and policies, as well as providing day-to-day HR support within a Flowserve business unit.

Responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with and advising assigned leaders and key stakeholders by applying HR solutions to solve business problems.
  • Serving as the HR Business Partner to assigned business leaders and their team driving operational success through corporate strategies.
  • Providing end to end HR support, including organizational development, employee relations, labor relations, talent management, talent acquisition, performance management, development, coaching, employee engagement, and success planning activities.
  • Directing and administering HR programs and processes efficiently and effectively.
  • Partnering with leaders to identify their high potential talent and support them in ensuring these individuals are set-up for continued success within Flowserve.
  • Supporting managers in requisition workflow including accuracy/quality of position description and overall data accuracy.
  • Partnering with talent acquisition resources to fill open positions with high-quality candidates; supporting the hiring process via interviews, offer generation/approval, and escalation of hard-to-fill requisitions.
  • Developing hiring manager capabilities in selection tools/processes to enable the best hiring decisions possible. Contributing to selection process for managerial and other key hiring decisions.
  • Supporting integration of new workers, facilitating induction programs.
  • Approving written employee actions including performance improvement plans and progressive disciplines; seeking additional review from Center of Expertise and Legal as needed.
  • Investigating grievances/complaints related to disciplinary actions, protecting confidentiality and sensitivity of investigation details.
  • Supporting site-level employee engagement initiatives including survey participation; driving employee and manager accountability for plans to monitor and improve engagement.
  • Providing initial counsel to managers regarding compensation (e.g., pay adjustment, promotion, etc.) and benefits requests (e.g., expatriate relocation/perquisites); escalating to the appropriate HR and business leaders for final approval.
  • Counseling managers on deployment of Continuous Performance Management process and influencing improved compliance and effectiveness.
  • Ensuring compliance with Performance Culture objectives, actively encouraging robust performance differentiation with supported managers.
  • Responsible for all labor documentation processing in line with local labor requirements, involving outsourcing support.
  • Knowledge of HR policies and practices, labor requirements, labor law.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and initiatives exercising sound judgment and flexibility.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work cross functionally in a matrix organization.
  • Contributing to a "people first" culture and inspiring leaders to operate with an enterprise mindset.
  • Upholding uncompromising safety and quality expectations.
  • Enhancing the HR brand within Flowserve with top quality work products and solutions that drive business results.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills include:

  • Ability to leverage HR data to support business partnering conversations.
  • English and Spanish speaker (fluent) Portuguese is a plus.
  • Previous experience in coaching and driving change management programs.
  • Experience in working with manufacturing, engineering, or sales teams.
  • Experience in Workday or any other ERP for Human Resources.
  • Experience working with ticketing system.
  • Skills with HR Operations.
  • Ability to influence others on proposed courses of action, be firm but be diplomatic at the same time.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 5-7 years relevant experience.

This is a hybrid role:

  • Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday on Empresalia offices 6am to 3pm or 7am to 4pm.
  • Monday and Friday home office.
