Application Engineer

Flowserve is seeking an Application Engineer in Corpus Christi, Texas, to join their Aftermarket Commercial Operations team. This role involves providing technical support and solution development for customers and partners, particularly focusing on industrial and special applications related to pumps, seals, and seal support systems. The engineer's responsibilities include reviewing customer requests for quotes, generating technical proposals and manufacturing requirements, and facilitating inspections of returned products. They will primarily serve customers in the South Region but also act as a backup for the broader North American region. The role requires strong commercial and technical acumen, and the ability to collaborate with various departments including sales and development.

Accountabilities

• Provide quotations for Seals and Systems at market level pricing in response to RFQs in the requested customer time frame.
• Interpret specifications and data sheets, including special warranty, delivery and payment terms requested by our customer.
• Perform seal failure analysis including the generation of technical findings reports with recommendations.
• Interact effectively with customers without supervision.
• Demonstrates acquired specialization in multiple products.
• For all products, identifies the correct Flowserve solution to fulfill customer requirements.
• Proactively seeks out maximizing financial drivers such as tracking costs, expenses, receivables, and inventory to improve the financial performance of the Corporation.
• Drive a consistent offering to our customers preventing regionalization of our product offerings.
• Engage with all levels of management and sales to participate in pricing strategies.
• Confirm the Sales Approval Process is followed for all firm bids and cost estimates are prepared and qualified by BU.
• Drive and facilitate selective bidding as required based on current workloads and user locations.
• Provide the first level of troubleshooting.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Engineering degree or equivalent with 2-5 years related experience with pumps, seals, or seal support systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Mechanical aptitude, ability to utilize measuring equipment (i.e. dial calipers, micrometers, etc.), ability to utilize basic tools for inspection
• Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities in a self-directed environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to new programs/software.
• Able to identify problems and utilize advanced problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to reach an appropriate solution.
• Basic project management tools and methods
• Strong work ethic with positive attitude

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience as an Applications Engineer or similar role such as, inside Sales Representative, Engineer.
• Good communication skills
• Strong technician acumen and analytical thinking.
• SAP knowledge Experience in dealing with common MS Office applications.
• BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 2-5 years relevant experience.
