Systems And Server Engineer

This is a technical position that works within the Agency for Persons with Disabilities Information Technology Office.

The work you will do includes:

• Providing server support throughout the agency and working with the State Primary Data Centers to ensure efficient platforms for data processing.
• Monitoring new and existing systems to ensure the performance of agency business systems.
• Working with the APD information Security Office to implement and carry out information security processes and procedures to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of APD data.
• Reviewing potential APD IT purchases for adherence to APD IT standards. Working with APD IT Architecture Board to ensure APD IT equipment can integrate into existing APD and State of Florida IT infrastructure.
• Collaborating with business analysts, database administrators, and other developers in conceptualizing, development, and implementation of new systems.
• Providing communications and networking support for all APD locations.
• Assisting in the definition, development, and documentation of software's business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments.
• Other duties as required.

Minimum qualifications include:

• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining windows-based computers and servers.
• Strong familiarity with all common networking terminology and technologies.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office 365, IIS, Certificate Services, System Center Configuration Manager, and cloud services.
• Hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting experience.
• Experience working with switches, routers, and firewalls.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

• Knowledge of common networking terminology and technologies.
• Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Work with Web services, Certificate Services, Microsoft Configuration Manager, Intune, O365, Azure, and AWS.
• Demonstrate skills in installing, configuring, and maintaining windows-based computers and servers.
