Public Health Services Manager B-SES

The incumbent oversees the pharmacy inspection program for the Investigative Services Unit, coordinating routine and complex medical quality assurance inspections and investigations relating to alleged violations of practice acts/rules under the jurisdiction of the Department. Work is performed under the supervision of the Field Office Manager through conferences and review of accomplishments concerning the achievement of the unit and division goals and objectives.

Responsibilities include:

• Supervising staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating employees.
• Coordinating pharmacy inspections and investigations.
• Managing operational activities for pharmacy inspections.
• Resolving operational and policy issues.
• Assisting with drug accountability audits and providing technical assistance.
• Investigating violations and preparing reports.
• Providing technical expertise in rule making and statutory review.
• Meeting with staff regularly to assess progress and provide guidance.
• Assisting with budget and conducting trainings.
• Providing support and advice to leadership.
• Answering public inquiries and developing professional contacts.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

Proficient computer skills, knowledge of laws and regulations, effective communication, ability to develop and maintain working relationships, and experience with pharmacy practices.

Qualifications include:

• Licensure as a pharmacist and one-year professional experience in the practice of pharmacy.
• Five years professional experience in the practice of pharmacy.
• One year of supervisory experience.
• One year of direct/indirect sterile compounding experience.
