Outreach Coordinator - 48006049 (Blind Services)
This position will serve as an Outreach Coordinator for the Braille & Talking Books Library in the Division of Blind Services, Daytona Beach. The incumbent will participate in outreach activities such as publicity informational tables at local events for the purpose of signing up new patrons for the Braille & Talking Books Library.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Under general supervision, works in conjunction with the Career, Technology, and Training Center (CTTC) campus staff, the Division of Blind Services District Offices, and community organizations in their outreach efforts to reach special and/or underrepresented populations.
- Actively works with the Division of Blind Services State Office External Affairs Team to keep Division brochures and library outreach materials up to date.
- Schedules and conducts presentations about library services and demonstrations (virtually or in-person) to potentially eligible populations at: Elder care facilities, retirement communities. Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) regional offices and Developmental Disability Centers within the State of Florida. The Department of Elder Affairs (DEA) Resource Centers (ADRCs). Vocational Rehabilitation Area Offices.
- Keeps all brochures, supplies, and outreach promotional items replenished and organized.
- Actively seeks out new opportunities to promote the library.
- Utilizes opportunities to promote the library in multiple ways, not just on-site visits. This should include phone calls, mail outs, websites, emails, and online meetings.
- Keeps the Bureau Chief up to date on the outreach schedule and meets regularly to determine best practices.
- Prepares a monthly report for the Bureau Chief of sources and outcomes.
- Develops, implements, and monitors community outreach plans, including measurable outcomes and objectives and shares this information with the Bureau Chief.
- Develops and maintains professional and positive working relationships with community partners and providers to build awareness of the division to increase its impact across the state.
- Shows good time management, scheduling, and communication skills.
- Coordinates the use of the state vehicle.
- Maintains a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances, and other communication opportunities.
- Analyzes data to measure the impact of outreach efforts.
- Organizes and prepares packets and brochures for events.
- Ensures all branding is accurate and up to date.
- Follows strict guidelines, only using pre-approved materials and signage.
- Follows up on emails in a timely manner.
- Leads tours of the facility (library).
- Performs other outreach duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Prior experience in community outreach and/or public engagement.
- Experience in public speaking.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Work experience with underserved or special populations (e.g., individuals with disabilities, seniors, non-english speakers).
- Ability to work a varied schedule, which may include evenings and weekends to attend community events.
- Ability to travel for events and meetings.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
