This position is for a database engineer with the Marine Mammal Section of the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute (FWRI) to support Florida marine mammal population research and monitoring. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing timely data management support to FWRI's Marine Mammal research staff. These services include assistance in the design and implementation of relational databases to ensure data access, quality, and viability. This assistance may be in the form of building backend functionality for frontend applications; writing and maintaining documentation and data manuals; recommending and implementing appropriate tools, methods, and software as necessary; or discussing database workflow issues, priority needs, and potential solutions. Ensure appropriate agency policies and procedures are followed for data storage, project workflow documentation, software selection, metadata generation, and security.
