MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Two years of experience in the maintenance and repair of buildings, plumbing or electrical or mechanical equipment; or Vocational/technical training in mechanical repair or one of the building trades can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for a maximum of one year of the required experience. Requires possession of a valid class E driver license.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Occasional to moderate travel required. Position may respond to emergencies, including natural disasters or other type incidents requiring travel, as needed.
JOB DUTIES: Assists the maintenance administrator in carrying out activities of the maintenance and construction of fixed facilities. This position will provide workmanship in general carpentry, plumbing and electrical work under the direction of the maintenance administrator. Regularly carries out the work assigned to the construction, alteration, repair, and maintenance of fixed improvements to ensure all work is performed in accordance with the direction of the maintenance administrator. Regularly performs skilled carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work in the construction, alteration, repair, and maintenance of fixed facilities under the direction of the maintenance administrator. Assists with inspections on fixed facilities to ensure that repairs and other maintenance are performed on a timely basis and in accordance with the direction of the maintenance administrator. This includes 139 fixed facilities (residence, towers, pump houses, dining halls, etc.) and nine major recreational areas. Assists with preparing materials list, specifications, and cost estimates in planning the construction of fixed facilities. Keeps operating records and generates reports using Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel, etc. Assists with maintenance and repair of heating and air conditioning equipment, electrical motors, and other electrical and mechanical equipment. This includes equipment associated with nine public water systems as well as other fixed facilities. Performs other related work as assigned.
