This is an Other Personal Services (OPS) position working 40 hours per week at the Department of Health in Lee County. The Health Information Specialist in this position reports to the Operations and Management Consultant Manager SES and works closely with all medical records activities. The Health Information Specialist performs specialized clerical work, which requires independent decision-making. Incumbent handles protected health information on a need-to-know basis following Department of Health Information Security and Privacy Policy procedures. Employee abides by State/Federal laws governing health information. This is a position which may require coverage at other locations including evening hours as mandated by the Supervisor or designee.
