Ops Family Support Worker - 64906246

This position requires you to work on site at one of our facilities located throughout Broward County. This is an OPS (Other Personal Services) position and as such no paid time off is offered. Health benefits will be offered for full-time employment. OPS employees are eligible to participate in a deferred compensation plan.

Position duties and responsibilities include:

  • Be the first point of contact for the 954-INSURES line by answering incoming calls and walking callers through the Florida KidCare online application process with patience while delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Use exceptional communication skills to follow up with callers after retrieving and documenting voice messages to address their concerns and questions.
  • Identify and analyze technical issues with Florida KidCare and use creative problem-solving to find solutions.
  • Log pertinent details on incoming and outgoing calls, application submissions, community events, outreach activities, and material distributions from the computer into an electronic database.
  • Be the local Florida KidCare resource for customer service information, working closely with community organizations and consumers in Broward County.
  • Spread the word about Florida KidCare in the community by networking with organizations, schools, childcare providers, businesses, and civic leaders to distribute informational materials.
  • Deliver by hand or mail promotional items and marketing materials requested through email, phone or fax from agencies or organizations.
  • Keep Florida KidCare outreach materials stocked and ready to go by maintaining an adequate supply of postcards, brochures, posters, and other resources needed by community partners.
  • Attend community outreach events to engage with local families, providing information about Florida KidCare by handing out postcards, brochures, and promotional marketing items.
  • Represent Florida KidCare during community events and outreach activities by setting up display table in an organized manner, placing table coverings, brochures, postcards and promotional items in a visually appealing way with appropriate signage, ensuring booth space is clean and welcoming to attendees.
  • Conduct educational outreach presentations on Florida KidCare, communicating clearly to highlight the benefits of the program.
  • Collaborate with the KidCare Outreach Team to creatively plan dynamic outreach, marketing, and public relations activities in the community, such as, radio interviews and appearing at local events.
  • Visit school campuses and gather helpful information to identify families eligible for Florida KidCare enrollment.
  • Actively participate in communication efforts, such as, conference calls, workgroup meetings, trainings and presentations held by the Department and Florida KidCare Outreach Program, lending your voice and ideas.
  • Participate with the local advisory committee, the KidCare Partners Taskforce, bringing fresh perspectives and problem-solving skills to facilitate impactful community engagement activities.
  • Serve as the local client advocate for families by identifying Florida KidCare issues, whether by phone or in person, and reporting to the Florida KidCare Program office.
  • Support other community health programs in the Department, assisting with outreach goals and other initiatives.
  • Complete other additional duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications required include:

  1. Willing to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours, or days in the event of an emergency.
  2. Have a minimum of three (3) years of customer service experience over the phone or in person.
  3. Experience conducting community outreach.
  4. Valid driver's license free of major infractions and access to an automobile to be utilized for work purposes and a willingness to drive to multiple sites as required by program needs.
  5. Able to work evenings and weekends as determined by program needs.

Preferred qualifications include:

  1. Experience facilitating community presentations.
  2. Experience working with Federal Program Eligibility.
  3. Experience with Microsoft programs
  4. Experience working with social service programs.
  5. Bilingual, fluent in English/Spanish or English/Creole.
