The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is seeking an Ops Agriculture Technician II. This is a full-time other personal services (Ops) position.
Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or its equivalent and a valid Class E driver license.
Job duties primarily involve the chemical treatment of invasive plants that inhibit forest management and contribute to decreased biodiversity. This includes mixing and applying chemical herbicides using various equipment, routine maintenance and repair of vehicles and spray equipment, and working in occasionally extreme conditions of hard to access, hot and humid forests. Ability to learn and differentiate plant species is also required.
The position may require occasional to moderate travel and responding to emergencies, including natural disasters or other type incidents requiring travel, as needed.
