OPS Administrative Assistant II - 71900237
This is administrative work assisting in the operation of the work unit. The member researches and gathers data and prepares written reports; provides guidance and assistance to further the achievement of the goals of the work unit and makes independent conclusions based on data available.
Specific duties include:
- Becoming familiar with fixed site security operations and procedures at the Florida Governor's Mansion to provide administrative support to Protective Services agents as needed;
- Answering and properly routing or dispositioning incoming telephone, facsimile, and e-mail communications to the Florida Governor's Mansion as needed;
- Transporting Protective Services assigned vehicles for required services or maintenance as needed (valid Florida Driver's License required);
- Preparing, inspecting, and conducting a compliance review of Protective Services for the Department's annual accreditation process;
- Preparing and submitting annual statutorily mandated dignitary protection and transportation cost report to the Florida Cabinet & Legislature;
- Managing routine Protective Services travel finance and accounting documentation as needed;
- Conducting criminal background screening for facility and grounds access to the Florida Governor's Mansion as needed;
- Inventorying and ordering administrative supplies for Capitol Police purchasing as needed.
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
- Knowledge of office procedures and practices;
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication;
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic;
- Skilled in the use of computers and office automation software;
- Skilled in the use of office equipment;
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures;
- Ability to deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner;
- Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations;
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments;
- Ability to work independently;
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; and
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Base salary: $17.33/hour

Our salary & OPS benefits: Starting hourly salary will be the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy.
