Operations Review Specialist

Independently collect and organize data from all bureau laboratories to compile comprehensive final reports. Ensure all required reviews are completed and documented. Verify that all supporting details in final laboratory reports are accurate and consistent with corresponding inspection and collection reports. Maintain organized digital records of final reports and ensure timely communication with other bureaus regarding report publication. Collaborate with laboratories across the bureau to ensure analyses are completed on schedule and all reporting deadlines are met.

Oversee the development and maintenance of section calendars to ensure efficient scheduling coordination across teams. Perform a wide range of administrative duties supporting laboratory operations, including documentation management, workflow optimization, and compliance with internal protocols and regulatory standards.

Assist the Sample Custodian in tracking regulatory samples throughout the laboratory process (from receipt to disposal) and serve as a backup when needed. Support accurate documentation of sample custody, ensure proper logging and routing, and maintain secure sample storage.

Work with supervisor, staff and laboratory quality manager to ensure quality assurance and ultimately, improvement, as required under ISO 17025. Ensures inventories (equipment and chemical/reagent) are current and complete.

Ensures proper working of section, including equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies (including reagent and chemicals), ensuring laboratory and work areas are clean and orderly, etc.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge of the methods of data collection. Familiarity with laboratory environment and safety procedures. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to keep accurate research records. Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to the chemical sciences. Ability to comply with strict procedural and quality control/quality assurance guidelines in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory. Ability to perform tasks that require a high level of attention to detail. Ability to use laboratory computer applications (email, data processing, spreadsheet, database, word processing) in a networked environment. Ability to review data using computer applications and/or spreadsheets.
