Operations Manager A-SES

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) provides highway safety and security through excellence in service, education, and enforcement. Duties and Responsibilities: This position is authorized to develop, implement, monitor, evaluate, and administer policies and procedures for the Commercial Driver License and Third-Party Testing program. Authorized to develop and administer confidential investigative activities to enforce Chapter 322.56, Florida Statutes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Commercial Driver Licensing program
  • Knowledge of regulatory enforcement program
  • Ability to apply governmental policy and procedures to assist and monitor compliance by private businesses and other agencies
  • Skill in using a computer
  • Skill in writing reports and correspondence

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with the following:

  • Experience supervising others
  • Experience developing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, and administering policies and procedures

Job Related Requirements:

  • Occasional out-of-town, overnight travel for meetings and special assignments is required.

General Information:

  • The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
  • Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI's Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
  • FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month.
