This is a position in a specialized public health program reporting directly to the RN School Health Coordinator and the Director of Nursing. This position requires independent problem solving, with knowledge of State Laws as it pertains to Florida Statutes. This position assists with disease investigations related to the safety of school children, teachers, and school staff.
Assist the RN School Health Coordinator to manage the administration of the School Health Services Program, perform periodic program reviews in cooperation with the Department of Education as the Department of Health, School Health Coordinator Assistant. Perform duties to assist private and public schools requesting to participate in the health services program regarding clinic/chart review, mock survey, screenings, immunizations, health education and health related problems.
Duties of these programs include but are not limited to: Assist with monitoring the local school district and charter school's annual health screening program and ensure follow-up completed according to the DOH school health guidelines. Assist with monitoring the local school District's health room as needed. Assist with monitoring Health records for identification of medical conditions/high risk students. Assist with monitoring to ensure that the Individual health and emergency plans are developed for children with medical conditions/high risk health. Assist with monitoring disease reporting and surveillance with the local school district and reporting to RN School Health Coordinator.
Assist with immunization and health screening compliance, ensures required reports are submitted for all public and private schools in Flagler County as required by statutes. Assist with Immunization Outreach in private and public schools. Assist with mock survey at all schools to get ready for state audit.
Assist with School Health Program, to include but not limited to medication training, health screenings, Immunization compliance and other DOH mandates. Assist with Medication Administration class with follow-up monitoring for unlicensed personnel.
Assist the local school health advisory committee with the school health services plan according to the Florida Statues and quarterly nursing meeting.
Assist with monitoring school health room reports for communicable disease outbreaks. Assist with initiating school based reportable disease investigation and assist with reporting and outbreak investigations with the Department of Health Epidemiology Personnel.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Computer Experience – Microsoft
Qualifications: Preferred – CPR Certification, School Health experience
