This position provides program oversight and technical assistance to local governments, private non-profits, Community Program Managers and department staff for the programs operated in the Bureau of Economic Self-Sufficiency (BESS). The position is responsible for providing contract management for the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) which includes processing payments, advances and reports relevant to the programs administered within the BESS.
The LIHEAP, CSBG, WAP, and LIHWAP programs are federally funded programs that helps income-qualified households with a multitude of assistance services ranging from utility bill assistance, self-sufficiency programs, to energy efficient housing repairs. The Bureau of Economic Self-Sufficiency administers four programs and allocates funding directly to a network of community action agencies, non-profit organizations, and local governments which are known as local agency providers, located throughout the state of Florida. FloridaCommerce is a fast-paced work environment in which critical thinking and prioritizing are a must.
