The Florida Department of Health, Division of Children’s Medical Services (CMS) provides a variety of programs and services to children with special health care needs in Florida, many of which are achieved through contracts with external partners such as hospitals, universities, and non-profit organizations. As a Contract Manager, you will be a vital member of the CMS team, supporting those programs and services through the contracting process.
CMS Contract Managers are a part of a high-performing, collaborative team, working both independently and with each other sharing knowledge and expertise to achieve shared goals.
Your specific responsibilities include:
- Serving as a Contract Manager in accordance with applicable Florida laws, including Chapters 287 and 215, Florida Statutes, federal guidelines, grant/funding requirements, and Department policies and procedures.
- Performing all contract management duties and responsibilities for the life cycle of assigned contracts.
- Preparing, routing, and implementing a variety of documents related to the execution of contract actions and other contracting processes.
- Collaborating with internal partners on activities and issues impacting program requirements or functions, and vice versa.
- Communicating with contract providers on issues related to or impacting contractual requirements.
- Communicating with and providing technical assistance to internal and external stakeholders and partners, related to contractual requirements.
- Coordinating and participating in quality assurance reviews and monitoring activities to determine compliance with administrative, financial, and programmatic contractual requirements.
- Completing required contract management trainings and maintaining contract management certifications as required.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

- Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and apply relevant statutes and regulations.
- Basic understanding of general accounting practices and principles.
Minimum qualifications include:
Currently employed by the State Personnel System.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Prior experience as a Contract Manager or performing contracting functions with a State of Florida Agency or Department.
- Prior purchasing or procurement experience with a State of Florida Agency or Department.
- Current or previous Florida Certified Contract Manager (FCCM) certificate.
