Government Operations Consultant II

The mission of the Office of Administration, General Service Support Services section in the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to provide efficient and effective administrative support services that enhance the overall operations of the Department. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

Job Duties:

  • Supports and guides Central Office records custodians and Records Management Liaison Officer in records management following department procedures and relevant statutes.
  • Procures, installs, and manages multi-function printers and copiers at Central Office; resolves related technology issues and processes invoices.
  • Manages the Central Office copy and production center, handling large volume print requests, and maintaining necessary inventory.
  • Oversees the shredding program at Central Office, including monitoring, purchase requests, and payment processing.
  • Assists with Central Office General Services administrative and facility liaison duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver License.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Must have current Florida Certified Contract Manager certification or obtain certification required within one (1) year.
  • Must have the ability to lift 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Experience in records management.
  • Experience in managing multi-function devices (MFDs).
  • Experience in handling large volume print requests.
  • Experience using a plotter printer.

  • Background Screening Requirement: The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
